Our Founding Partner, was an officer in the Indian Revenue Services (IRS) and Meritoriously served Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Customs and Excise for 23 years in various capacities. Gained diversified knowledge, experience, insight and in-depth
understanding of indirect taxation and international trade. He Graduated in Chemical Engineering (First Class with Distinction) from Anna University, Chennai.
1986-1991: Gained diverse industrial experience in Chemical and Textile sectors. In 1991 he Cleared UPSC Civil Services examination and joined Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
Since then, worked in almost all sections of Customs House like assessment groups, import/export examination, investigation, audit, legal, refunds, drawback, appeal, adjudication, EDI, Risk Management System, IPR Cell, Air Cargo Complex, Export Promotion Schemes including DEEC, DEPB, DFRC, EPCG, 100% EOU, SEZ etc., Worked for more than 5 years in Special Intelligence and Investigation Branch(SIIB) and Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) and handled many sensitive investigations and achieved various rewards and appreciations from the Government of India. 2005-2009: He was holding the post of Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) at JNCH, Nava Sheva. He has Handled litigations relating to Commissioner (Appeals), Settlement Commission, Central Information Commission, High Courts and Supreme Court. Was also closely associated with the presentations made in Ministry of Finance, GOI, relating to formulation of Goods and Service Tax (GST). Delivered lectures at NACEN, Mumbai and Chennai, which is the training institute for Officers of IRS, ED, DGFT, etc.
He Served as a Government Counsel for Customs Excise Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT-MUMBAI). Appeared for the Department in various cases relating to Customs, Excise and Service Tax Matters. Gained experience and insight in litigation matters relating to Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax, DGFT/EXIM Policy matters etc.

S.Vibu Nandhan, is a practicing advocate registered with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. He is a founding partner of Nathan and Nandhan Associates, and practises in the High Courts, Supreme Court and Tribunals across India. He specializes in Indirect taxation, Customs, Income Tax, FEMA, ED
matters and Economic Offences.
He has pursed his legal education in some of the top universities in India. He has secured his LLB degree with Honours) from National Law University, Jodhpur. He has further completed his Master’s in Business Law (MBL) from National Law School of India University, Bangalore with distinction and has received an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Law and Forensic Sciences (APGD) from NALSAR, Hyderabad. He is also an International Arbitration and Mediation professional and is a registered associate with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London (ACIArb).
He is an avid practitioner of law and has represented a number of national and multi-national companies in High Courts, Tribunals and quasi-judicial forums across India. He has also provided consultancy and rendered legal advice to many international clients in a plethora of areas, on a diverse array of commercial
issues. He was also working in the office of the AAG (Additional Advocate General) of Tamil Nadu, for a brief period and has rendered legal opinions and advised various departments of the Tamil Nadu Government in many issues of national importance. He was also working briefly with the Senior Government Counsel for Customs, Income tax and Enforcement Directorate in Mumbai and has assisted him in many big profile matters. He takes up matters across the Republic of India before different forums and further engages in matters from around the globe.
RAHUL KUMAR

Rahul has a significant amount of experience in representing and advising clients on both domestic and cross-border disputes.
Rahul has represented clients in both ad hoc and institutional arbitration under the ICC and UNCITRAL Rules. He has had the experience of representing companies in the banking and finance, construction, energy, infrastructure, technology and telecom sectors, before judicial authorities in India and institutional and ad hoc arbitral tribunals.
Besides Arbitration, Rahul has acted for clients in commercial, civil and criminal litigation, and bankruptcy matters and has made representation before various judicial forums. Rahul has further advised various real estate funds, multi – national companies, operators, lenders, borrowers, retailers, institutional and non – institutional real estate investors, and developers in a broad range of business area.
His practice area include advising on all aspects of investments into real estate projects, creation of security, sale and purchase of real estate properties, including commercial leasing, due diligence, structuring, negotiation and documentation of the transaction, drafting and negotiating agreements relating to sale, mortgage, loans, licenses, construction, services, agency & franchise, litigation and arbitration related to real estate properties, among many others and advising domestic and international corporate clients on their general legal requirements.

Pallavi Singhal, is a graduate of National Law University, Johpur and has been working with some of the top law firms in India. Before joining N&N, she was an Associate in the Capital Markets team of Luthra &Luthra and Saraf & Partners in Mumbai and Delhi and has advised clients such as India Bulls, Adani Enterprises, Wockhardt Pharama etc. and has successfully helped them with their compliance and corporate-related issues.
SURAJ SONOWAL
Associate partner of Maritime law and Shipping
He heads our firm’s shipping and admiralty division. He was previously associated with one of the premier Tier -I law firm in the field of Shipping and Admiralty practice in India and has an experience of over three years. He has profound interest in this field and has expertise in all facets of shipping, admiralty and trade which inter alia includes contentious, non-contentious, compliance, regulatory practice, etc. He has extensive experience in working with IG P&I Clubs, Shipowners, Charterers, Seafarers, Agents, Managers, Insurers, Surveyors and Brokers. He regularly appears and represents clients before the various High Courts, the Supreme Court and arbitral tribunals and has successfully represented clients in several high value shipping arbitration and disputes before various courts. He not only understands the requirement of the clients but also holds an in depth understanding the shipping industry. Mr. Sonowal holds a B.B.A LL.B degree from National Law University, Jodhpur with specialization in International Trade Law.
